April 20, 2010
Foresthill – A 52-year-old Foresthill woman died after being involved in a two-vehicle crash that also injured another driver Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Pamela Hawkins, from Foresthill was reportedly driving her Chrysler Sebring near Happy Pines Drive at about 7 am when she collided with a GMC Acadia driven by 56-year-old Graciela Mata.
The head-on collision killed Hawkins who was not wearing seatbelt at the time of the accident. Mata sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center. Mata was wearing her seatbelt when the accident occurred.
Authorities are convinced that speeding was not a factor.
