Speeding SUV collides with Bus, Injures Four

Fresno – A speeding SUV crashed onto a Fresno Ares Express bus Tuesday Afternoon on North Avenue leaving at least four injured, authorities said.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer was heading west along North Avenue at around 3:00 p.m. when the driver miscalculated a turn causing the Chevrolet to skid and hit the southbound bus travelling along Maple Avenue.

Reports indicate that the Chevrolet’s speed was 20mph more than the prescribed speed limit in the area.

The driver of the Chevrolet suffered a broken ankle and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Two of his passengers were also injured as was the driver of the city bus who was brought to Saint Agnes Medical Center for treatments.

One of the bus’ passengers was treated on the scene and was immediately released. All the identities are yet to be released as police continue to investigate the accident.
