SUV Hits Car, Driver in Trauma

Orange County- A man suffered minor trauma and was hospitalized when an SUV hit his car after it ran a red light at the intersection of Orangewood and State College.

The victim was cut out of his vehicle and was flown to UCI Medical Center with moderate trauma, after the 12:30 incident.

According to witness, the victim was driving a Mercedes-Benz sedan and entered the intersection when the light turned green, and a Ford Excursion SUV, which was going north on State College, hit it after running a red light.

The SUV, which had front-end damage, had to be towed from the accident scene; while the driver declined medical treatment.

A third vehicle sustained minor damage when the sedan changed lanes following the impact from the Ford Excursion.

The driver of the SUV declined to comment.
