OC Abductor Killed in Car Accident

ORANGE COUNTY – The Orange County Sheriff’s office has announced the death of the Lake Forest man in a car crash in Juarez, Mexico. The 46-year old man, identified as Lonnie Ramos, was accused of abducting his 9-year-old son and shooting his estranged wife.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesperson Jim Amormino said they are still awaiting the report of the Mexican police regarding the incident. It is unclear if anyone else was involved in the accident but the kidnapped boy whom Ramos had dropped at a Church of Latter Day Saints in Juarez. The boy was taken to the U.S. Consulate in Juarez, while his mother was recuperating in the local hospital.
Ramos became the subject of police manhunt after he shot his wife and fled with his son in a red Porsche. The two later turned out to be in Mexico.
