Multi-vehicle Crash Kills Teenager in San Fernando Valley

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY – Authorities have reported the death of a teenage girl in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Victory Boulevard in San Fernando Valley recently. California Highway Patrol said the crash involved three vehicles and occurred on the southbound side of the freeway.
The lone fatality in the crash, a teenager who was on board a car driven by a 52-year old male, was burned beyond recognition while her driver-companion suffered critical burns.
Seven other motorists were injured in the pileup.
All southbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed as authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
