April 29, 2009
Northridge – A baby is said to be in stable condition after being thrown out of a vehicle in a collision Tuesday night, authorities said.
Reports indicate that the 2-month-old girl was in a vehicle heading north on Tampa Avenue when another vehicle on southbound lane crashed onto it. The car then slid to the sidewalk before hitting a traffic signal.
The baby was held by an 18-year-old woman in the backseat when she flew out of the car window because of the impact.
The backseat passenger suffered minor injuries while another passenger, a 2-year-old girl, was said to be unscathed.
The baby was taken to University of California Los Angeles Medical Center where she was treated for serious injuries.
