VEHICLE COLLISION: Fresno Police Officer Responding to Emergency Call Injured in Collision

Fresno - A male Fresno police officer sustained injuries after being involved in a collision while on his way to help another officer who was handling a felony traffic stop along Clark Street and Belmont Avenue, said reports.

The officer was moving along the intersection of Divisadero and Fulton streets with his sirens and lights on when he suddenly collided with another car at around 7:20 p.m.

Reports said at least four people were found inside the other vehicle. All of them were unharmed in the accident.

According to authorities, a blood-alcohol test was performed on the other driver, but they are still waiting for its results.

The officer was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he is now under a stable condition. His identity has not yet been released by the authorities.
