CAR ACCIDENT: Federal Judge Suffers Knee Injury after LA Car Crash

Los Angeles – Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Stephen Reinhardt has sustained a knee injury after a car collision in Mar Vista on Monday at 9:30 p.m.

The 9th Circuit Judge was driving his car westbound on Washington Place when a southbound driver ran the red light at Inglewood Boulevard and struck the judge’s car, according to Los Angeles police.

Paramedics arrived and administered treatment to Reinhardt's knee injury. The federal judge refused to be transported to a hospital for further medical treatment.

Los Angeles police officers said that the vehicles involved in the crash were 2004 Lexus and 2000 Honda.

Reinhart is one of the three judges who voted against same-sex marriage reinstatement in California last week. The appeals process on Proposition 8 is ongoing.
