August 25, 2010
Los Angeles – A single car crash left a driver trapped under his vehicle for almost two hours on the southbound Harbor Freeway (110) in South Los Angeles Tuesday night, a California Highway Patrol officer reported.
The accident occurred around 11:30 pm near West Gage Avenue off-ramp, according to CHP officer Patrick Kimball. The unnamed driver was partially ejected out of the car and was trapped when it overturned.
Gage Avenue’s off-ramp and lanes number 3 and 4 of 110 Freeway were shut down because of the crash. The driver was rescued out of entrapment at 1:27 am and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The closed lanes were reopened by 1:37 am. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but Kimball said there were no indications of drugs or alcohol influence.
