Civilian Crashes into Patrol Car, Injures Police Officer

Long Beach – A police officer sustained moderate injuries after he was involved in a car crash late Monday, reports said.
The accident occurred along Santa Fe Avenue and 28th Street at about 6:20 p.m.
According to authorities, the police officer was on his patrol car heading north along Santa Fe Avenue when the accident happened. A civilian driver who was bound west of 28th Street reportedly attempted to cross the avenue, turned left, went through the intersection, and crashed his vehicle into the patrol car.
Authorities added that the officer was already recovering from his injuries while the civilian was unharmed.
