Car accident in Laguna Niguel Kills Teen Driver

Orange County, CA - An 18-year-old driver was killed when his car hit a traffic pole in Laguna Niguel.
Alexander Archambault, resident of Dana Point, smashed into a traffic light pole located in Lapaz Road when he lost control of the car that he was driving.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino said Archambault was driving south on La Paz Road when he lost control of the four-door Mitsubishi Diamante when he was near Kings road and smashed into the traffic light.
The car was slit into two and was completely engulfed in flames when the deputies arrived at the scene, said Amormino.
Archambault is assumed to have been have died immediately, added Amormino.
Meanwhile, according to Lt. Fred Furey of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the witnesses of the accident reported seeing Archambault’s car speeding before it slammed into the pole.
Investigation on the crash is still ongoing. It is not yet determined if alcohol or drugs played a part in the incident.
