April 15, 2009
San Diego - A toddler was killed early Wednesday after the car he was riding on was hit by an out-of-control BMW along Interstate 805, south of Imperial Avenue.
A California Highway Patrol Officer said that the elderly driver of the BMW was driving northwards along I-805 when she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. This caused her car to move to the right and hit the Chevrolet Silverado where the child was seated.
Both vehicles veered to the right up an embankment and then overturned.
The 2-year old boy was said to be seating at the right rear of the Silverado and was thrown out when it overturned.
The kid was declared dead on arrival at the Children’s hospital while his two companions suffered only minor injuries and was taken to nearby medical facilities.
Officials said that the driver of the BMW was uninjured.
