Car Crash Kills Plane Pilot in Needles

NEEDLES, San Bernardino – The San Bernardino County sheriff’s office has reported the death of an unidentified plane pilot in a car crash that occurred about 10 miles west of Needles.
Authorities said the incident happened after a small experimental plane called a Titan Tornado made an emergency landing near the Interstate 40 ramp leading to US 95 where a car struck it.
The plane pilot died instantly while three people in the car suffered minor injuries caused by shattered windshield.
The Federal Aviation Administration and local police are still investigating the accident.
