2 Suspects Nabbed for Hit-and-run that Killed Tot
Anaheim – Police arrested Monday the two suspects who figured in a hit-and-run incident that killed a 3-year-old girl in Anaheim last February, reports said.
The victim, identified as 3-year-old Miranda Palacios, was killed while crossing Guinida Lane along Gilbert Street on February 8. Augi Hernandez, the girl’s mother, sustained grave injuries.
Official reports identified the two suspects as 20-year-old Carlos Parra and 24-year-old Rebecca Beltran. The two were arrested after a lengthy interview and probe. Parra was booked for felony hit-and-run in Orange County Jail while Beltran was booked for helping in a felony crime.
According to investigators, the vehicle used in the crime, a beige 1995-model Nissan Maxima, was reported stolen in Stanton just moments prior to the mishap. Police later located the car just a few blocks from the scene of the hit-and-run accident.
Authorities held a press conference early Thursday to issue additional information on the arrests.
