PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: 1 Child Killed, 2 Others Injured when Hit by Car in Merced County

Merced County- A 9-year-old girl has died while two other girls, who are aged 12 and 13, suffered from injuries after they were hit by a car near Delhi, said reports.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, the deceased and two other children identified as Marlene and Lenny were all walking along Oak Street’s north edge when a westbound 2005 Cadillac that was moving near Sycamore Street suddenly hit them.

Reports said the 9-year-old girl was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center, where she died. Meanwhile, Marlene sustained moderate injuries and Lenny suffered from minor injuries in the crash.

It is not yet clear whether the driver Manuel Mercado, 69, from Delhi, was injured in the accident.
